It Wasn’t Just My Life on That Stage. So Was My Purpose.

Dear Mr. Blow, your equilibrium shines through in your reflections today, you are thrilled yet definitely convey you wrote your memoir as a service, as is the opera. Your autobiography is for the collective, as are your fierce, loving, truthful op Eds that document our country like an unfolding memoir of America. I do hope in some private moment you experience the heart-thumping ecstasy of being honored in the Met’s pioneer moment of a first Black opera. A shining praise song. Let all the guardedness and humility go, to feel how totally amazing you are. Let joy flow through you, one your many fans are feeling, mixed with glorious admiration as we have followed you for many years.
